Trafikverket (The Swedish Transport Administration) is responsible for all intermodal long-term infrastructure planning for road, rail, sea and air transport, and for the planning, building, operation and maintenance of the state roads and railways. Proceeding from a community planning perspective, the Swedish Transport Administration is to create conditions for an economically efficient, internationally competitive and long-term sustainable transport system.
In Vital Nodes Trafikverket is responsible for Work package 1, Building a network and its legacy. Trafikverket will deliver a strategic plan for a self-sustaining network; a description of the network after the projects’ completion; and a road map and agenda for the coming three years after the completion of the project. To succeed we must work closely with all other work packages.
