Urban Innovation Vienna is a company 100% owned by the City of Vienna. Its core business is to contribute to future urban tasks providing interdisciplinary expertise. As a “think tank” Urban Innovation Vienna tracks and analyses international trends, initiatives, developments and research activities in order to integrate them in city-related strategies and policies by designing strategy processes, dialogue forums, workshops and conferences in relation to initiatives like “Smart City” and “Digital City”. Urban Innovation Vienna is a Viennese node in a growing network of partners and experts in and with other cities, actively involved in international discussions and promoting Vienna’s competence and excellence.
Urban Innovation Vienna’s role in the project is to actively support the implementation of the pilot workshops in Vienna providing a strong link to the local stakeholder (e.g. City of Vienna’s administration) and to assists the preparation of workshops in other cities, too. Furthermore Urban Innovation Vienna contributes in the development of recommendations and in promotion activities.
