The Global Project, the so called “Erdinger Ringschluss”, aims at connecting Munich airport with the high speed railway network of the Rhine-Danube Core Network Corridor (CNC), allowing a direct (high speed) train connection to the airport. Once completed, the “Erdinger Ringschluss” will be a two track railway connection between the airport and the CNC in the city of Erding.
The Action covers all necessary pre-construction studies of the section of “Erdinger Ringschluss” located within the airport’s boundaries. The future line will be a continuation of the existing underground sub-urban railway line connection to Munich. The extended line will run for 1.5 km underground until it has cleared the airport operating areas above.
