The Action applies a multi-scale accessibility approach and aims to illustrate transport demand along the corridor at key nodes in the areas around the nodes and across nodes.
Studies on urban node accessibility aim to optimise access and travel times within a node by considering infrastructure and operational aspects such as station configuration, way finding, integrated ticketing, amenities for transferring passengers. This will be complemented by studies on integration with urban transport modes.
Studies on seamless connection to and from nodes aim to improve the integration of the greater node area with services on the corridor by working on transfers at nodes. This will also include the ‘International Integrated Timed Transfer’ concept to ensure that the effects of improvements in the nodes will not be negated by excluding long distance transport.
