The Action is part of a Global Project which will link urban and regional traffic to national network and fill the missing link along the Barcelona-Marseille-Genoa Mediterranean Arc.
It is implemented on the Marseille-Toulon-Nice-Ventimiglia-Genoa section of the Core Network.
It consists of the following activities:
• comparison of potential adaptation scenarios at the Marseille and Nice railway nodes
• finalisation of the adaptation plans selected for the Marseille and Nice railway nodes
• finalisation of the public enquiry book required for the public enquiry
• project management, communication and consultations
The Action will contribute to the increase in the capacity of this rail network, providing an alternative route to the line along the coast, which currently is among most heavily trafficked in France and used by both commuters and long distance passengers.
